Like many who ultimately call Colorado home, the homeowners were first drawn in by the mountains. Reminiscent of Switzerland, where the homeowner grew up, the setting inspired a home that could support both family life and a significant art collection.
Influenced by the surrounding landscape, designer Gonzalo Bueno of Ten Plus Three shaped a warm, industrial inspired residence known as Aspen Modern.
The renovation emphasizes a strong connection to the outdoors. Architectural elements such as the glass banister staircase and sculptural built ins reference organic forms, while hand blown lighting and reclaimed wood introduce texture and warmth throughout the home.
Generous in scale yet comfortable in feel, the interiors balance sculptural lighting with relaxed furnishings. Danish inspired pieces allow the architecture, light, and art to take center stage, with tall ceilings and expansive windows framing mountain views and highlighting the homeowners’ collection. The project received international recognition for its thoughtful balance of nature, art, and architecture.
