A home designed around a single purpose: housing one of the most significant private collections of western art in the region.
Decades of paintings, drawings, sculpture, books, and memorabilia required a structure that could function as both residence and gallery. The design delivers both without compromise. Gallery spaces are calibrated to let the work lead. Personal living areas shift toward warmth and comfort, traditional in feel while the art remains present throughout.
Materials were chosen with the same intention. Corten steel covers much of the exterior, oxidizing to a controlled finish that stabilizes and protects over time. Stone ties the structure to its site and echoes the western subject matter within, including a 17-ton slab used as a stair landing in the main gallery. Cut stone cladding extends across exterior walls alongside the metal siding, grounding the building without softening its edge.
